Sure looks like fall out there

Woke up to see this out my window..
How very Gorilla in the Mist-y!
Lurve the fog

I'm guessing by 10am it will be stinking hot again ...might as well enjoy the last few days of hot summer weather...cold front is coming in on Thursday...which will somehow justify my decorations....maybe even encourage others...yes Fall does not officially start till September 21st but I could simply not wait that long to decorate....that would go against every fiber in my being!
So back to decorating...found some fab free Halloween websites that offer free printable labels

I was thinking of using old pickle jars to make a witches pantry...using good'ole dollarstore chatchkas like skulls and bags of spiders to fill the jars...

Summer hasn't ended yet...but it's Halloween in my crib!

I really should try and show some restraint  but why?...maybe when the girls are older cause this might cause some confusion about when Halloween season really occurs....but what's a couple of months earlier...: D
My motives also start out harmless...wanting to see what decorations I have and seeing what new scenerios I can come up with .....after opening the bins and bins of decorations....I just can't help myself....gotta put up those decorations!
It took a week this time because of the babies, re-vamping and making new decorations...but o'soo worth it!...already working on next year's.
Our Halloween tree...best part is that it will stay up for xmas

Alot of hot glue and moss...which is super messy to work with

Bye Bye Sage..Hello my Spanish Moss

After the changing the window covering ...the sage green stood out even more...hated that colour from the moment it was rolled on to the walls.....so now i had a valid reason to paint over it....yayyyyy!

yuck!

I also wanted to add some texture to the walls so i added some dry wall compound in different strokes and did not sand it down.

The window covering that started it all!
Guess that is all it takes to inspire some new paint en mi casa ; )

Bathroom Spruce up

When we moved here 3 years ago....the plan was to have a palm tree themed bathroom...so we painted the wall a dark sage green colour , which was as far as the palm tree theme got... I decided change was needed...first the window treatment and towels...3 yards for $9.00 @ Walmart in the leftover section....enough for decorating the towels and to make a swag above the window.
First I lay the towel down and measured out the piece of cloth then ironed the sides down and pinned it to the towel.

The ingredients
Aprox...
Pinning it all down was key...it helped to stop it from moving when it went under the sewing machine

The finished product ; )
